Lee Strobel's Background
- Lee Strobel was an award-winning journalist and legal editor for 14 years with the Chicago Tribune. He was an athiest, but his wife became a sincere Christian. He saw positive changes in her, and decided to investigate the evidence for Christianity. After nearly two years of study, he realized it was more reasonable to believe in Jesus Christ than in athiesm. He accepted Christ as Savior in 1981.
Strobel became the Teaching Pastor at Willow Creek Community Church. He began to write books, like his best-seller "The Case For Christ." To date he has authored more than twenty books. He was host for his own television show, called "Faith Under Fire." He continues to write apologetics books and articles, and is a popular speaker.
He earned a Bachelor of Journalism in 1974 at the University of Missouri, the Master of Studies in Law in 1979 at Yale Law School, and because of his extensive research for his books, Southern Evangelical Seminary conferred on him the Doctor of Divinity degree in 2007.
